Family owned and cared for — your experience will reflect what the owners would want for themselves, their family and friends. Nestled just off the Healdsburg town square this simply luxurious private compound of four cottages is not a Bed and Breakfast or Boutique Hotel but a little Sonoma Wine Country lodging paradise. Healdsburg Modern Cottage guests are not seeking services and embellishments, but prefer simple luxuries such as beautiful landscaped outdoor spaces with a swimming pool, indoor spaces with a minimalist aesthetic, luxurious beds dressed with fine linens, down pillows and duvets, thick thirsty towels, robes and privacy to boot.

Each cottage is a bit different in size, but all include an elegant modern seating area with a gas fireplace, flat screen TV/DVD, desk, wireless internet, CD player and iPod hook up. The extra amenities — hairdryer, iron, safe, small refrigerator, coffee maker and luxury toiletries take comfort to a new level. Luxurious spa bath — private outdoor deck - simply sublime. You will not find valets parkers, room service, door openers, mini bars, knocks on your door or tipping. Our new form of accommodation leaves guests happily alone and on their own.

Basil Magazine: February 2011

"Where to stay: Healdsburg Modern Cottages, where the private bungalows are named George, Eileen, Ray, and Charles. As in 20th century design icons Nelson, Gray, Eames and Eames (and furnished to match!). Less about mints on the pillow, more about lemon trees in the garden.

Artful Living Magazine: Winter 2011

"One of the more distinctive places to stay in town is the Healdsburg Modern Cottages. Tucked away on a quiet side street just a couple blocks from the central plaza, the cottages combine the amentities of a hotel with the privacy of a vacation rental home."

TableTalk: July 2010

"Healdsburg Modern Cottages is a tribute to the American modernist designers Eileen Gray, George Nelson, and Ray and Charles Eames. Each cottage is named for a single designer, and the impeccably curated interiors incorporate each designer's signature pieces. The cottages [have] an unusual residential vibe that's tough for a traditional hotel to match — amid the private gardens, or lounging by the pool, it's easy to forget you're in the midst of downtown Healdsburg."

Sunset Magazine: January 2010

"Looking for a cozier alternative to Sonoma hotels? For a Sonoma wine-country getaway that feels both homey and stylish, nab a stay at the Healdsburg Modern Cottages. The four mini homes clustered around a pool are just a stroll away from the shops and restaurants on the Healdsburg town square, right in between the Sonoma wineries in Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley."

NWA World Traveler Magazine

"Check into the airy, sleek luxury of the Healdsburg Modern Cottages, tucked into a quiet, convenient spot just off the main drag. Relax on your private deck or cool off in the pool."

Healdsburg modern cottages deliver in every way! "This was our first visit to the cottages and we could not have been happier. The location is amazing, the cottages are quiet and comfortable and the decor was stunning. We are already planning our return trip to the area and we would not consider staying anywhere else. I wish every city I travelled to had accommodations equal to the cottages. I just might never go home." - New York, NY

Fabulous with a great location.  "Having been to Healdsburg many times (and always being a big fan of Barndiva and their gallery next door ) I thought to try out these cottages by the same owner. They were fantastic! Great location right off the square. Of course nicely decorated, clean and quite. I would definitely stay there again. I stayed in the "Ray" and it has plenty of room for a family." - Sausalito, CA

Rad Decor, the cottage/apt I wish I could live in... "This place was lovely. The Cottages were decorated the way I wish I could afford to decorate my own home, totally modern and cool. I like to look for "hotel" alternatives, but B&Bs never suit me because I like modern and I like privacy. The cottages were the best of both worlds, AND it has a pool that only the three other little cottages use... how amazing. I am getting my ladies together next summer and booking all four for a private lovely little weekend." - San Francisco, CA

A great location in town and wonderful design aesthetic. "If you want great location in Healdsburg, you just can't beat Healdsburg Modern Cottages. It's only a few blocks from the plaza, and the ease of walking to dinner at night and then strolling back to the room is wonderful. Healdsburg Modern Cottages is reminiscent of small inns I've stayed at in Europe; there's such a European feel to the design aesthetic both in the cottages and in the landscape. I loved the sense of privacy; it almost feels like you have your own sweet little cottage in town." - San Francisco, CA

Mother of the Bride...  "Coming from New York City for my daughters wedding in Healdsburg presented criteria and challenges for a weeks stay for a 'Destination Wedding'. The Cottages, with its simple modernist elegance, gave me the opportunity to have a quiet coffee in the morning, have wedding guests and the bride in neighboring cottages and, the ability to graciously entertain guests for an evening glass of wine. Best of all, a lovely space to have the bride dress for the wedding with room for her friends to gather with her. I look forward to returning again, for a get-away with my daughter and her husband. We treasure our memories there and look forward to more relaxing times." - New York, NY

Better than home at the Modern Cottages. "My wife and I stayed at the Healdsburg Modern cottages not to long ago and were super happy. First of all, the decor was great. We love modern architecture and furnishings and the cottages could not have fulfilled our needs any better. I even got some great ideas for our home! And...the location was great. We were right in the middle of town with action outside our door and the ability to taste some great win just a quick car ride away. Sure made for a perfect getaway! I can't wait to go back now that I know what to expect. Next time I will take pictures of the interior and ask my designer to replicate..." - Minnetonka, Minnesota
